WRITE AID: A COMEDY BENEFIT FOR STRIKING WRITERS AT COMIX
New York, NY – Jonesing for your favorite comedy shows? No worries -- Comix has teamed up with the Writers Guild of America, East and assembled an all-star lineup of scribes from your favorite (currently blacked-out) shows Tuesday, December 11th.
Join us as Andy Borowitz of CNN, National Public Radio, The New Yorker & creator of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Brian Kiley of Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Laurie Kilmartin of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Bill Scheft of The Late Show with David Letterman, Brian Stack of Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and others put down the picket signs and pick up the mike for a night of "anything goes" comedy.
A portion of proceeds will go to WGAE Strike Fund. PLUS, discounted tickets for all WGA members! Simply present your WGA card at the Box Office to receive $5.00 off admission.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
Andy Borowitz created the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and co-produced the Oscar nominated movie Pleasantville. He is also the founder of the Borowitz Report a site that posts one 250-word satirical column every weekday. He has made countless appearances on other television programs including Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Best Week Ever on VH1 and Live at Gotham on Comedy Central. In adition Borowitz is a regular host of the The Moth and also sings with the literary rock band Rock Bottom Remainders.
Brian Kiley Brian Kiley has appeared several times on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
He has been a staff writer for Late Night with Conan O'Brien since 1994 and he has been nominated for 12 Emmy Awards. He is the winner of the 2007 Emmy Award for Writing in a Comedy/Variety Series.
Laurie Kilmartin has performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Premium Blend, Shorties’ Watchin Shorties, and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. In 2002 she became a staff writer for Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn and has also written for the Late Late Show and Too Late with Adam Carolla.
Bill Scheft toured as a stand-up comedian for twelve years. Scheft was hired as a monologue writer for Late Night with David Letterman in 1991. He served as head monologue writer for the Late Show until March, 2004, and during his years with Letterman was nominated for 13 Emmys.
Over the last decade, Scheft has contributed humor essays and short pieces to the New Yorker, New York Times, Esquire, TV Guide, George, Talk, Slate and Modern Humorist.
Brian Stack is an American writer/actor/comedian best known for his sketch comedy work on the late night talk show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien. As a member of Late Night’s writing staff, Stack won five Writers Guild Awards for Writing in a Comedy/Variety Series for 2000, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006. Stack was also nominated for an Emmy Award every year since 1998 for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program as a member of the writing team.
